ausguard, you are right 'you get what you pay for' and most security guards will say the same but it is the client generally that is choosing the dollar rate.

When a the primary contractor sub-contracts out the work and the client complained about the shoddy work the primary contract then blames the work on the sub-contractor and gets a new one. What should happen is the client should get rid of both.

This forum and sites like this are very good at identifying faults but how do we get them out to the client.

Ive talked to a few MSS Guards and they have told me that this a big issue for most of their Permanent staff, that being the use of sub contract officers. There cheaper to use and don't get all the benefits a full time company guard gets. But as the old saying goes "you get what you paid for" rings true in our industry.Pay low dollars for contract guards, you get low quality service.

It is outrageous to say the least that Serco subcontracted unlicenced MSS employees to guard at detention facilities. Shocked
