ACT Minister for Industrial Relations Dr Chris Bourke has introduced a Bill today to create a new portable long service leave scheme for the security industry and its workers.
Minister Bourke said the Bill would extend the benefits of existing portable schemes to workers in the security industry, where over 2500 workers provide vital public safety services for our community.
Minister Bourke said the scheme will protect the basic entitlement of each worker to take long service leave in an industry where most workers are engaged by many employers during their career.
