Hello,

The link you posted does not work, if you try this one, it should work.

http://www.insecam.com/cam/bycountry/AU/

I live by Melbourne, so I did this, http://www.insecam.com/cam/bycity/Melbourne/

in the part that is bold, change to the city that you wish to see.

Admin, the really scary thing about this thing is that it gives you the address of your house, because of the IP address that you provided.

Thanks admin for raising this issue...

This story emphasizes how much ordinary people do not understand technology. The range of security camera footage on this website http://insecam.com/ demonstrates how easily these devices can be accessed and how much information the criminal element can obtain.
From the FAQ on the website:

Quote:
Q: How did you hack these cameras
A: These cameras are not hacked. Owners of these cameras use default password by unknown reason. There are a lot of ways to search such cameras in internet using google, search software or specialised search sites.

Click on a country, click on a camera site and it gives the location of the camera and login and passwords. This is crazy. This website tries to alert the public to a serious security problem that is taking place right now.

Footage from hundreds of security cameras monitoring Australian businesses and homes is now available to anyone with an internet connection to view online.

Website Insecam is streaming over 70,000 feeds from internet protocol cameras around the world without the knowledge of the owners of the cameras or those unwittingly filmed by them.

There are currently 924 Australian camera feeds available on the website showing the insides of businesses, factories, building sites and what appear to be private homes.

Internet protocol cameras, or IP cameras, are security cameras similar to CCTV which allow owners to view their camera feeds online.

It is believed the cameras available to view on the Insecam site are accessible because their owners have not changed the default password on their devices.
